Operation Tree Canopy

Help scientists study the cooling benefits of urban trees in Riverside.

Join us to collect data and help scientists study the cooling effects of different tree species. Volunteers will collect leaves and data about tree condition, size, and location, so UC Riverside scientists can correlate the data to high altitude aerial photos taken by NASA.

A project of Earthwatch Institute.

Training and tools will be provided.

Field collections are conducted within three weeks of the NASA fly overs so ground-collected data will correlate to high altitude aerial photos.
