IUFC promotes the benefits and sustainable care of trees to expand our collective urban forest.
IUFC envisions thriving and prosperous inland Southern California communities transformed by healthy trees and green spaces.
The Inland Urban Forest Council (IUFC) is a network of tree advocates that works to advance the greening of cities and the sustainable management of community forests of the inland Southern California, including portions of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and eastern Los Angeles County.
The Council:
- conducts educational field trips, tours, and workshops
- seeks region-wide funding for urban forestry programs, and
- shares information that will improve the planning and management of community forests.
IUFC events bring together arborists, planners, urban foresters, pest control applicators, and other professionals and advocates. Our workshops include informative speakers and often a tour or hands-on learning activity. We usually offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professionals in the tree care industry.
The IUFC is one of seven regional councils in California. The local Council advances inland concerns to the California Urban Forests Council, CAL FIRE, and the California Community Forestry Advisory Committee (CCFAC).
